Bulk renaming is easiest to reverse when the naming rule is simple, deterministic, and previewed before export. Prefixes, suffixes, numbering, find/replace, case changes, and cleanup rules can be combined, but every extra rule increases the chance of collisions or ambiguous names.
Start with one purpose: add a date prefix, normalize spaces, add sequence numbers, or replace a known token. Review the preview before combining multiple transformations. A simple naming rule is easier to audit and reproduce later.
Number padding and stable prefixes help keep names unique and sortable. If two files would end with the same output name, adjust the sequence, prefix, or source rule before packaging the results.
